Although Larping has no central governing body those in the community largely recognize Mike Trogan as the greatest role player in the sport's history. Hailing from the state of Michigan, Mike was quick to establish his Elfin Mage-Warrior, Clovor the Middling, as a character to be reckoned with on the North American Larping circuit. Within two short years, the defeat of countless foes and becoming Western Hemisphere’s top ranked larper, Trogan began to feel complacent and decided to take Clovor across the Atlantic to Europe, home of the oldest and greatest Larping societies.
In the beginning Trogan found it difficult to gain notice on those tough Norwegian battlefields. But in December of 2002 everything changed on the dank, cold hillsides of Norway. After several hours of intense combat, Clovor bested Gorack the Mighty. Instantly the European larping scene was put on notice. This victory followed by a series of epic battles throughout Scandinavia. With each successive victory, Trogan found himself closer to top of the larping world.
Mike Trogan's status as World's Greatest Larper was cemented when he dueled Eric the Grey during the Battle of Aligorth in Denmark in the Summer of 2005. Before his retirement in 1999, Erik the Grey had long been considered the world's oldest and most dangerous Larp character. Upset that an American was gaining such fame in his homeland, Erik appeared from the shadows and challenged the Mage-Warrior. Clovor and Erik's battle lasted countless hours but Clovor prevailed when he cast a shield of reflection that caused Erik's confusion spell to only effect himself. This veil of disorientation allowed Clovor to cast his feared "Death" spell, thus earning him the decisive victory. To this day the Duel at Aligorth is widely considering the pinnacle in Larping history.
